Qualifikationsziele

The main aim of the module is the introduction in fundamental physical concepts and principles in the fields of electrostatics, magnetostatics and electromagnetism on an elementary level. The module conveys a profound knowledge in the field of physics that is necessary for successful studies in any technical field. It delivers important skills that help to be able to efficiently solve practical problems in a subsequent employment in research or industry. With the knowledge of basic concepts and methods for the treatment of physical questions the students are well-prepared for upcoming challenges in a fast moving technical world. The students are able to apply their knowledge on practical problems, to form and solve equations describing the technical issues and to discuss and interpret the results of calculations and experiments. During the course the students attain and strengthen practical experiences in the application of modern scientific instruments, the acquisition of scientific data and the corresponding data analysis and reporting. Due to the fact that the students work in small groups during the physical trainings, they have to solve problems together and become team-minded.
