The module data science project will cover the following topics:

  • Big data concepts 
  • Identification strategies for data analysis 
  • Application of data science techniques  

The course is taught in a seminar style with practical examples and selected case studies.

Qualification objectives

By the end of this module, students should be able to: 

  • Employ theories, concepts and frameworks to identify and reflect upon data science strategies, big data issues and challenges 
  • Identify and evaluate various data science options 
  • Use an extended range of tools and frameworks to conduct a full analysis of given data sets
