Instruction content/structure

1- French Online Course

The content area includes academic skills such as note-taking, composition and report-writing. Differences in the German and French higher education sector will be discussed.

From the outset, the acquired language skills will be directly applied.

Reading, listening, writing and speaking skills will be practised.

Situational grammar activities will help to consolidate grammar knowledge.

Vocabulary practise is integrated into the language modules.

Online tutors will give the students individual feedback on their progress, correct assignments and offer suggestions on oral and written expression.

2- French Classroom Course

Following a mandatory placement test, students will be divided into 2 groups based on their languagge level (B2/C1).

The course helps students to improve their language skills and cultural knowledge for a smooth transition into the French university system.

French language skills are imparted through oral and written exercices (lectures, presentations, discussions, articles).

Upon course completion, students are offered the possibility to certify their French language level through the DELF/DALF examinations.

Qualification objectives

1- French Online Course (DUO Language School, Munich)

The online French module (B2-C1) offered through DUO serves as a propaedeutic and technical language preparation course for DFH students before their semester abroad at the partner university.

The DUO modules follow a competency-based and practice-oriented foreign langauge didactic.

Language modules in culture, law, economics, engineering etc, cover necessary terminology, practice skills and methodology.

The modules in law and economics are strongly recommended for the trinational Master student.

2- French Classroom Course

- to enable a smooth transition into the daily routine of a French university
