Working in a Global Business Environment

-  State-of-the-art in domestic and global computer science
-  Major organization patterns and developments (R&D, QA, PS) in IT
-  Development of the project- and product life-cycle, project work and management
-  Customer care (acquisition, communication, project development and follow-up)
-  Human resources (staff recruitment, relocation, assignments, outsourcing)
-  Preparing for a stay abroad (application, interview)

Developing Cultural Awareness

-  Cultural values at work and in society (theoretical models and practice)
-  Body language, management of time and space in global project settings
- Hotspots and critical incidents (project case studies on various cultures)

Practising oral and written academic and technical genres (adapted to respective students’ needs)

-  Academic genres (e.g. conference abstract, executive summary, scientific article)
-  Business-related genres (e.g. business plan, business correspondence)
-  Technical genres (e.g. data sheets, requirements specifications)
-   Legal documents (e.g. contracts, service-level agreements, licensing agreements)

Qualification objectives

- Beherrschung effizienter Kommunikationsstrategien in Englisch (Sprachniveau C1 oder höher, vgl. CEFR) in wissenschaftlichen, berufs-, geschäfts- und projektorientierten Kommunikationssituationen im Fachgebiet Informatik und in den praktischen Anwendungsfeldern dieses Fachgebietes

- Effektives Informationsmanagement in Englisch in multikulturellen akademischen, geschäftlichen und mutidisziplinären Projektsituationen

- Effektiver Umgang mit fachgebietsrelevanten wissenschaftlichen, technischen sowie wirtschaftsbezogenen mündlichen und schriftlichen Textsorten des Fachgebietes Informatik und darüber hinaus in den Anwendungsfeldern des Fachgebietes

- Beherrschung der für die Informatik typischen wissenschaflitchen Herangehensweisen an das Projektmanagement und an IT-Problemlösungen
