Qualification objectives

The aim of the module of Economic Geography is to provide an overview of main ideas of Economic Geography.

Economic geography is strongly related to neighbouring disciplines such as sociology, spatial planning, public administration and history.

In theoretical economic geography we focus on understanding the spatial distribution of economic activity.

In regional geography we focus on the interaction of different cultural and natural geofactors in a specific land or landscape.

In historical economic geography we examine the history and development of spatial economic structure.

After having attended the course, students will have an understanding of various aspects of global economic action. They will understand its implications of global business life as well as the impacts on our lives worldwide.
