Development of academic and professional language skills in English with a major focus on business and economics (scientific and professional presentations, negotiations, project meetings, academic discussions and conferences)

Relevant lexical and grammatical structures of the English language used in business and economics, based on current texts and genres chosen from a variety of topics (business, science, technology, corporate communication, data management, for example:

  • International business and business processes with a focus on oral and written business genres
  • Organisations and management
  • Corporate and intercultural issues and resolution of conflicts
  • Project management
  • Interdisciplinary topics (data management, digital transformation)
  • Other current business and project-related issues

Scientific approaches to problem-analysis and problem-solving in business, technology and society

Qualification objectives

Post-intermediate/advanced receptive and productive language skills in international business communication (B2+/C1 CEFR)
Proficiency in common written and oral genres in business and academia
Effective management of academic, business-related and professional communicative challenges in English
Scientific analysis of communicative assignments and genres as well as application of appropriate strategies, methodology and tools
