    • Current status
    • Energy sources / resources
    • Energy consumption (current status and forecast)
  2. Energy generation – global tasks and issues
    • Climate change
    • Environmental pollution
    • Critical raw materials
    • Social implications
    • Economical costs
  3. Regenerative energy generation technologies
    • Hydropower
    • Wind energy
    • Photovoltaics
    • Energy from biomass
    • Solar thermal
    • Geothermal
Qualification objectives

Basic knowledge of current tasks and global challenges towards energy generation and consumption technologies are taught. Taking into account the finiteness of fossil resources and climate change, the students get to know possible solutions addressing these issues. A critical examination of selected environmental problems takes place based on the technical implementation of current and renewable energy sources. In particular, the relationships between available renewable energies, the state of technical development and their role in a sustainable energy supply are discussed. The module enables the students to assess technologies related to energy generation and consumption and to make decisions in terms of a sustainable energy supply.
