  • Basic traffic engineering parameters and conditions (key traffic data, basic parameters and solution strategies, working methods for planning traffic engineering systems)

  • Fixed-time programs for individual nodes

  • Traffic-actuated (rule-based) traffic signal control

Qualification objectives

The students are able to design and implement fixed-time and traffic-actuated controls at individual nodes, as well as on coordinated traffic lights along an arterial route.

Recommended prerequisites

Solid knowlege of probability, differental and integral calculus, fluid mechanics, electronics and computer sciences; knowlege of using computer programs and programming simple kinds of them; basic knowlege of simulation, automotive engineering, commmunication technology.
